Lasse Sortkjær

Lasse Sortkjær's passion for design arose through his work in the construction industry, where the joy of creating durable structures grew. However, at the same time, a frustration arose from working with solutions that did not live up to aesthetic ideals. The need to influence the aesthetic expression led to a career change, and in 2011 a new journey towards becoming a designer began.

Experience from the construction industry has provided a solid understanding of materials and production techniques, which is reflected in the design process. This knowledge enables innovative, yet commercially viable solutions, as there is a clear understanding of how designs can be produced efficiently.

Although the education is within furniture design, the work is not limited to this field. The understanding of design is seen as a broad approach that can be developed within many different disciplines of design and architecture.
